Clark, Pampanga — The sprawling government-owned land surrounding Clark International Airport has officially been rebranded as the "Clark Aviation Capital of the Philippines," marking a significant milestone in the country’s aviation and business sectors. The formal launch was led by Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) president Arrey Perez during a general assembly attended by the agency’s directors, 150 personnel, and key government officials.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Undersecretary for Aviation Roberto Lim, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) vice president Kenneth Peralta, and Dr. John Ortiz Teope, representing BCDA chair Thompson Lantion, were among the event's distinguished attendees.
Perez described Clark Aviation Capital as an "aviation-centric business capital" that will drive innovation and economic growth. “The airport is just one component of an aviation-centered metropolis, where dreams will take flight,” Perez said, highlighting the vision for a dynamic ecosystem integrating aviation, logistics, commerce, and sustainable urban development.
The Clark Aviation Capital encompasses 2,367 hectares of prime land designated for local and foreign investments. The initiative aims to transform these lands into a global hub for innovation, investment, and infrastructure, contributing to airport operations and bolstering national economic and food security.
CIAC has outlined several flagship projects, including the Clark National Food Hub, which recently gained approval from the House of Representatives' Committee on Trade and Industry, and plans for a World Events and Entertainment Center, an Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation program, and infrastructure upgrades such as the Direct Access Road Link to Clark Airport and the construction of a second runway.
The CIAC, a subsidiary of BCDA, is tasked with overseeing aviation and land development activities in the Clark area, making it a key player in realizing the vision of Clark as the country’s premier aviation capital.
