NHMFC warns public against scams

The National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) has issued a warning to the public regarding reports of individuals or groups falsely representing the corporation in order to extort payments from NHMFC borrowers, buyers, or clients. NHMFC officials have reported that some people or organizations have been impersonating or claiming to be authorized by the corporation to collect payments, resulting in potential losses for those who fall victim to these scams.

To prevent fraud and deception, the NHMFC strongly advises the public not to engage with or seek the services of any person, group, or organization regarding any transaction with the corporation, as only the NHMFC personnel are authorized to transact on behalf of the corporation. The NHMFC stresses that any transactions or contracts entered into with unauthorized persons or groups will not be honored, and the corporation will not be held liable for any loss or damage resulting from such illegal dealings.

To ensure the legitimacy of all transactions, the NHMFC advises that all payments and consultations should only be made directly to the NHMFC Head Office in Makati City or its One-Stop-Shop Office in Quezon City. The corporation urges the public to seek assistance from their authorized collection and counseling staff or employees and always secure an official receipt or proof of any payment made to the corporation. By being vigilant and cautious, the public can avoid being victimized by these scams and protect their hard-earned money.
