Filinvest REIT Corp. (FILRT), the real estate investment trust (REIT) of the Filinvest Group, was honored for the third consecutive time for its outstanding leadership in championing key sustainability efforts.
At a recent ceremony, FILRT was recognized as part of the Asia CEO Awards’ Circle of Excellence for Sustainability Company of the Year, which recognizes “any Philippines-based organization that achieved important success at environment progress and demonstrated leadership and commitment to sustainability.”
FILRT’s recognition is one of 700 Asia CEO Awards nominations this year, the highest number of nominations received by Asia CEO Awards so far.
"We are truly honored to be recognized at the Asia CEO Awards for the third consecutive time. This recognition reaffirms our unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental progress. More importantly, this reflects FILRT's dedication to sustainable practices and our ongoing efforts to make a meaningful difference for our partners, tenants, and stakeholders,” said Maricel Brion-Lirio, FILRT President and Chief Executive Officer.
This is the third consecutive time FILRT was included in Asia CEO Awards’ Circle of Excellence, having been previously included in 2022 and 2021. The Asia CEO Awards has been described as the country’s “dominant business awards event.”
FILRT, the country’s first sustainability-themed REIT, currently operates the highest number of Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies (EDGE)-certified office buildings among REITS in the Philippines.
EDGE is the green building standard and certification developed by the International Finance Corp., a member of the World Bank Group.
FILRT's EDGE-certified properties are located in Northgate Cyberzone, an 18.7-hectare information technology zone that is home to the country’s largest district cooling system (total capacity of 12,000 tons of refrigeration), and which is fast becoming a key center of productivity in South Metro Manila.
