Gov't approves 7 more PPP projects

The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center said seven were added to its pipeline of PPP projects for undertaking between the government and the private sector, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

PPP data showed that as of Dec. 4, projects newly added to the list include the unsolicited Operation & Maintenance Including Supply and Installation of Laboratory Equipment and Laboratory Information System, Floating Solar Power Generation Facility at Pantabangan Reservoir and the Jalaur River Multi-purpose Phase 2.

Other projects recently added include the P29.3-billion, 3,000-tons-per-day (TPD) Manila Waste-to-Energy Facility Project, P9.6-billion Renewstable Green Hydrogen Power Plant in Marinduque and the P2.1-billion Cavite Integrated Waste Management Services.

These bring the total PPP projects in the pipeline to 172, with a total project cost amounting to PHP2.54 trillion.

The amount was slightly lower than the more than PHP3 trillion worth of projects disclosed earlier this year.

"The decrease in the estimated project cost is attributed to the delisting of the Joint Venture Proposal for the Laguna Lake Rehabilitation and Development Project with an estimated project cost of PHP763.54 billion," the PPP Center said.

Other projects delisted include the Butuan City Digitalized Traffic Enforcement, Tumauini River Multipurpose Project, Food and Drug License and Clearance System, Combined 17MW Upper Sampaloc and 8MW Lower Sampaloc Hydroelectric Power Project; and the Comprehensive Provincial Waste Management and Carbon Capture System Utilizing Bio-Methanation No-Burn project.

The PPP Center said the PHP12.75-billion upgrade, expansion, operations and maintenance of the Laguindingan International Airport and the Santiago City Hemodialysis Center Project are removed in the pipeline database following its award.

The projects are now reflected in the PPP Center database of projects under implementation.
