MCIA attains Airports Council International accreditation

MCIA, the country's second-largest airport, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first and only airport in the Philippines to be accredited by the Airports Council International (ACI).

The General Manager and CEO of MCIA Authority, Julius G. Neri, Jr., expressed his excitement, stating, "We are drawing closer to our vision of making MCIA one of the Top 10 passenger-centric airports in Asia by 2030."

The ACI, serving more than 700 members and overseeing 1,950 airports worldwide, has granted MCIA the Airport Customer Experience accreditation. This recognition comes as a result of MCIA's exceptional performance in delivering top-notch customer experience management and efficient check-ins and security procedures.

Achieving the ACI accreditation showcases MCIA's commitment to providing exceptional service to its passengers and elevating the airport's position as a leading regional aviation hub.

Neri emphasized that this recognition marks only the beginning of their journey, and they will strive to further enhance their services to make every passenger feel valued and satisfied.

In addition to the recent accreditation, MCIA also received the Airport Health Accreditation from ACI in 2021, highlighting its dedication to ensuring the health and safety of passengers and airport personnel through the implementation of best practices.

With over 11 million foreign and local passengers served annually, MCIA holds the distinction of being the second busiest airline hub in the Philippines.

Operated by a Filipino-led private consortium composed of Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC), GMR Group of India, and Megawide Construction Corporation (MCC), under a concession agreement with the Philippine Government, MCIA continues to make significant strides in enhancing the travel experience for all its visitors.
