NLEX Corp. repairs transient facility for NOLCOM

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation's (MPTC) subsidiary NLEX Corporation recently opened the newly-refurbished transient facility for military personnel and civilian guests of the Armed Forces of the Philippines' (AFP) Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) in Tarlac City, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

The facility inside Camp General Servillano Aquino in Tarlac is made available as lodging quarters for formal and personal travels of NOLCOM officers and staff.

According to the company, it partnered with construction firm Leighton Asia to repair the old female barracks facility through conducting roof replacement, structural integrity checks of the building, room fixtures, air condition unit installations, and renovations to the lobby and entrance.

This is the second phase of NLEX’s repair projects for the facility, with the first phase being the renovation of the male barracks early this year in partnership with EEI Corporation.

The company said they will include the refurbishment of the facility’s chapel in their future plans.

NLEX Corp. stated that they recognize NOLCOM’s role in securing the areas traversed by travellers by its expressway.

MPTC Business Consultant and MPT Mobility Head Rodrigo Franco, who also serves as the head of the Resource Planning and Generation of NOLCOM’s Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC), said that helping provide resources for the the military unit will contribute to their operations in maintaining peace and security in Northern Luzon.

“By helping NOLCOM, we are also helping our nation. Because through this, we make the command more effective in its difficult role in protecting our country,” he said.

NOLCOM Commander Lt. Gen. Fernyl G. Buca also expressed his gratitude to the company, saying he hopes to continue their partnership to help the military.
