Robinsons Land announces leadership transition, names first female CEO

Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) has appointed Maria Socorro Isabelle Aragon-GoBio as its new president and chief executive officer, effective February 1, 2025. This marks a historic milestone for the company as Aragon-GoBio becomes the first woman to lead RLC, underscoring its commitment to diversity and nurturing local talent.

The announcement comes as Lance Gokongwei steps down from his role as president and CEO, a position he has held since January 2020. While relinquishing his executive responsibilities, Gokongwei will transition to the role of executive chairman, where he will continue to provide strategic guidance for RLC's future direction.

The RLC board expressed gratitude to Gokongwei for his transformative leadership, noting his contributions to establishing the company as a dominant force in the real estate industry.

Aragon-GoBio, a seasoned veteran with over 30 years of experience in real estate, has been instrumental in RLC’s growth and diversification since joining the company in 1993. Her leadership has spanned multiple domains, including logistics, residential developments, office buildings, and mixed-use projects.

“Ms. Aragon-GoBio brings unparalleled expertise and a forward-looking vision for Robinsons Land,” the company stated. “Her focus on innovation, customer-centric strategies, and sustainability will drive the company’s next phase of growth and value creation.”

In her previous roles, Aragon-GoBio served as president and CEO of Robinsons Logistix and Industrials Inc., where she developed the company’s logistics arm into a vital business segment. She also spearheaded major projects as senior vice president of Robinsons Destination Estates, overseeing landmark developments such as Bridgetowne, Sierra Valley, and Montclair.

Earlier in her career, she played a pivotal role in launching RLC’s high-rise building division, introduced successful residential brands, and fostered partnerships with local and international firms. She also led collaborations with government entities to deliver key joint projects.

Aragon-GoBio holds a degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University and pursued advanced studies in International Business at the University of Antwerp.

Her appointment signals a new chapter for RLC, as the company aims to build on its legacy while embracing innovation and inclusivity in a dynamic real estate market.
