New road opens in Aurora province

Farmers and residents of Barangay Diaman in the town of Maria Aurora Aurora province now have improved mobility and access to services with the completion of Diaman-Dikildit Road implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Citing a report from DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said that the opening of 2.2-kilometer Diaman-Dikildit Road now provides easy access between barangays Diaman and Dikildit.

“With the completion of the two (2)-lane road, locals will no longer have to cross the Diaman River and traverse rough trails especially when transporting their farm products to the nearest market,” said Villar.

The 2.2-kilometer mountain road was completed in the amount of P49-million, funded under the 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The new road is expected to open more opportunities for the previously hard-to-reach barangay who rely on production of coconuts, palay, and bananas.
