Congratulations to Ibiden Philippines, Inc. for its 25 years of strong and committed operations in the Philippines!
Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Tereso O. Panga graced Ibiden's 25th anniversary celebration last 16 May 2025 at the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Batangas.
Ibiden Philippines, Inc. (IPI) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan-based Ibiden Co., Ltd., a global leader in electronics and ceramics manufacturing. Established in 1912, Ibiden Co., Ltd. began as a power generation company and has since evolved into a key supplier of high-density printed circuit boards (PCBs), IC package substrates, and ceramic components—serving major global clients such as Apple and Intel globally. Ibiden is part of the global supply chain for many essential products.
Situated in the First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP) in Santo Tomas, Batangas, Ibiden Philippines specializes in the production of plastic substrates and multi-layer PCBs. These critical components power a wide range of advanced electronic devices, including smartphones, laptops, and gaming consoles. In the past 25 years in the Philippines, the company has earned recognition for its dedication to innovation, environmental sustainability, and employee development.
As a registered PEZA enterprise and among the top Japanese investors in PEZA, Ibiden Philippines operates export-oriented manufacturing facilities that have significantly contributed to its continued growth. With PEZA’s support, the company has achieved $168 million in annual exports and provided over 2,000 direct jobs to Filipino workers.
Highlighting the company’s commitment to both national development and global innovation, IPI President Yuzo Yamagami said, “IPI's commitment extends far beyond manufacturing. We are deeply dedicated to the growth and prosperity of the Philippines. We're proud to contribute to the Philippine economy through job creation, skills development, and sustainable business practices. Our commitment extends to the global semiconductor ecosystem, where we strive to be a reliable and innovative partner, contributing to the industry's advancement.”
In response, DG Panga congratulated the company for their milestone and said, "Many do not know that Japanese companies like Ibiden have made the Philippines a long-term home for their investments and we at PEZA remain grateful for this commitment! The growth of Japanese investments throughout the years have been spurred by examples like Ibiden who have chosen to not only prosper here but have committed to promote the economic growth of the Philippines. To us at PEZA, the Japanese remain to be ichi-ban! And we will continue to be ichi-ban for them as we further strengthen our initiatives to provide support and assistance to Japanese companies like Ibiden and facilitate its continued growth in the country through the ecozones."
