DHSUD, Bacolod City to deliver housing projects in December

In compliance to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to expedite the implementation of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Bacolod City government are eyeing the delivery of housing units to beneficiaries next month–the first ever under the flagship program.

This, as DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez on Friday inspected the ongoing construction of the Yuhum Residences, which is under the Pambansang Pabahay, in Barangay Vista Alegre.

Initially, DHSUD and the Bacolod City local government unit (LGU) are targeting the turnover of 288 units in December.
“This is in compliance to the order of the President to expedite the delivery of shelters to our beneficiaries under Pambansang Pabahay,” Secretary Acuzar stressed.

“These (housing units) serve as our President’s Christmas gifts to the beneficiaries,” he added.

Currently, the first building of the Bacolod City LGU’s 4PH project is already in the final stages of construction.

Secretary Acuzar expressed gratitude to Mayor Benitez for his all-out support to the Pambansang Pabahay.

“Dahil po sa pagpupursigi ni Mayor Benitez kaya naging matagumpay ang proyektong ito. Maswerte ang mga taga-Bacolod dahil sa inyong masipag na mayor ,” Secretary Acuzar said.

“Malaki po ang role ng mga LGUs sa Pambansang Pabahay, mula umpisa hanggang sa dulo ng proyekto ay sila po ang talagang nasa frontline,” he added.

For his part, Mayor Benitez vowed continued support to DHSUD as he thanked Secretary Acuzar for having Bacolod City as among the first LGUs to be enrolled under the Pambansang Pabahay.

During his tenure as congressman, Mayor Benitez acted as among the principal sponsor of the bill that eventually led to the enactment of Republic Act 11201 which created DHSUD.

“I am elated that Bacolod City is the first LGU that can deliver under the Pambansang Pabahay, since Mayor Benitez really works hard for the housing sector,” Secretary Acuzar said.
