Budget carrier Cebu Pacific said on Monday it will resume flights from Clark International Airport to four key domestic destinations, according to a report by BusinessMirror.
Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the carrier will soon resume its flights from Clark to Puerto Princesa, General Santos, Iloilo, and Davao.
Starting October 2, Cebu Pacific will resume its flights between Clark and Puerto Princesa. This will be followed by the reintroduction of routes from Clark to General Santos and Iloilo on October 21 and flights to Davao on October 22.
With these additions, Cebu Pacific will operate flights to 10 domestic and international destinations from Clark.
Lao said this cements the Gokongwei-led carrier’s “position as the largest airline serving Clark International Airport.”
“We are excited to restart four of our domestic routes from Clark. This resumption underscores our commitment to offering greater accessibility to travelers from north and central Luzon,” he said in a statement.
Currently, Cebu Pacific offers direct flights from Clark to popular local destinations such as Boracay and Cebu, as well as major international cities including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Narita, and Singapore.
Across Philippine airports, the airline operates flights to 35 domestic and 25 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
Cebu Pacific is beefing up its operations in anticipation of more planes in the future. It has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Airbus for the purchase of as much as 152 Airbus A321 new engine option (Neo) jets.
The deal is valued at $24 billion or about P1.4 trillion based on list prices and is the “largest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history.”
The memo encompasses firm orders for up to 102 A321neo aircraft, with an option to purchase an additional 50 A320neo family jets.
To date, Cebu Pacific operates a diversified commercial fleet that includes eight Airbus 330s, 39 Airbus 320s, and 21 Airbus 321s, and 15 turboprops.
