DPWH, PAF meet to share best practices and development programs

A coordination meeting between officials and technical teams of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Philippine Air Force (PAF) was held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 to share former’s expertise in engineering and construction.

With the instruction from DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, the meeting presided by DPWH Undersecretary for Technical Services Maximo L. Carvajal, was attended by a seven-man team of PAF 355th Aviation Engineer Wing Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Board (MSAB) headed by Lieutenant Colonel Arcis B. Obedencio.

Also present to share best practices were Bureau of Construction (BOC) Director Eric A. Ayapana, Bureau of Design (BOD) Director Aristarco M. Doroy, Bureau of Quality and Safety (BQS) Director Medmier G. Malig and other DPWH technical staff.

According to Undersecretary Carvajal, the 355th Aviation Engineer Wing which is mandated to provide general engineering services to PAF and contribute to government’s national development programs, requested the consultation meeting in recognition of the Department’s experience as the engineering and construction arm of the government.

The meeting highlighted best practices, practical and resilient capabilities, and innovative development programs of the three (3) DPWH Bureaus to complement the Department’s goals and visions in providing high quality infrastructure.

DPWH is committed to support and assist the PAF in their endeavor to build high-standard and modern facilities especially in geographically-disadvantaged areas during humanitarian assistance and disaster response. (DPWH)
