DHSUD announces new appointees 

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has beefed up its ranks with “fresh blood” after welcoming several newly-appointed officials.

In separate occasions last week, Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario administered the oath of office to 12 officials appointed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to DHSUD.

Leading the oath-takers was Assistant Secretary Darryl Bryan Villanueva, who was subsequently designated as Assistant Secretary for Regional Operations.

Others who took their oath were newly-promoted Directors IV, namely, Lyndon Juntilla, Mario Mallari, Jovi Francis Tupaz, Eleanor Uboan, Randy Halasan, Rolando Pagtolon-an, Peter Daniel Fraginal, Raymond Cajayon and Naiza Mae de los Santos.

Meanwhile, DHSUD Procurement Division chief Baby Catherine Cruz and Hazel Ivory Laud-Begyan took their oaths as Director III.

Secretary Del Rosario urged those who took oath to always be guided by the three DHSUD’s housing principles considering “shelter as a right of every Filipino family; that it is our responsibility to capacitate them and provide access to decent yet affordable housing in sustainable communities, and that there will be no sub-standard housing units built under the Duterte administration.”

In another development, three senior officials of DHSUD also took their oath as Career Executive Service Officers (CESO), namely, Assistant Secretary Melissa Aradanas, Planning Service Director Mylene Rivera and DHSUD Regional Office 4A Director Jann Roby Otero.

Asec. Aradanas (CESO Rank II), as well as Directors Rivera and Otero (both CESO Rank III), reiterated their commitment in assisting the Department in delivering on its mandate, which is to capacitate Filipino families, especially the underprivileged, to own their dream homes.

In his message, Secretary Del Rosario cited that experience is the best teacher when it comes to public service, noting the long years of experience of the three officials in the government, particularly in the housing sector.

“One of the noblest professions is in public service. May you continue with your tasks of helping make the dreams of majority of Filipinos to have house of their own into reality,” the DHSUD chief stressed.
