Property giant Megaworld Corp. is investing %u20B12.5 billion to redevelop Eastwood City, its pioneering 18.5-hectare mixed-use estate in Quezon City, as part of efforts to modernize and sustain the township’s appeal as a premier urban destination.
“Eastwood City holds a special place in our history as Megaworld’s very first township,” said Megaworld President Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso. “This redevelopment reflects our commitment to keeping it vibrant, relevant, and future-ready.”
Launched in 1997 as the country’s first IT cyberpark, Eastwood City has since grown into a major commercial and residential hub, housing 23 residential towers, 11 office buildings, three lifestyle malls, and over 500 restaurants and retail establishments.
The redevelopment plan includes upgrades to longstanding features of the estate, such as Eastwood Citywalk, Eastwood Mall, and the Eastwood Mall Open Park. Renovations are also underway at Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, while office buildings like IBM Plaza are undergoing phased refurbishments.
Megaworld confirmed that additional enhancements to other office and residential towers will follow, focusing on lobbies, facilities, and resident amenities.
The transformation of Eastwood Mall is already taking shape with refreshed interiors, updated cinemas, and a more diverse tenant mix. The mall now hosts the country’s first SuperPark Philippines, an indoor activity park originally from Finland.
At Eastwood Citywalk, the former cinema has been repurposed into the new REP Eastwood Theater, home of Repertory Philippines. The fourth floor has been converted into a modern Food Park, featuring new dining concepts and a redesigned space.
Public areas are also being revitalized. The Eastwood Mall Open Park will soon welcome a fresh selection of lifestyle and dining brands, further enhancing the township’s appeal as a live-work-play destination.
