PEZA and BDB law host tax forum to update RBEs on taxation changes

On August 13, 2024, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), in collaboration with BDB Law and Associates, held the Tax Forum for Registered Business Enterprises (RBEs) at the PEZA Head Office and via Zoom. This event, part of a series of informational sessions, follows the previous forum with other Trade Regulatory Government Agencies (TRGAs) held on June 26, 2024, and marks the first seminar under the new PEZA Academy.

Director General Tereso O. Panga underscored the importance of the forum, stating, “PEZA and its RBEs are crucial stakeholders in the country’s taxation and incentive regime. Effective tax and incentive administration is essential for maintaining investor confidence and attracting new investments. As the government works to address investor concerns, it is vital to continuously update and educate both PEZA personnel and RBEs, as these changes directly impact investor operations.”

The forum covered significant topics, including amendments under the Ease of Paying Taxes Act, the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting Framework (Two-Pillar Solution), and updates on the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises to Maximize Opportunities for Reinvigorating the Economy (CREATE MORE) Bill.

The event saw a robust turnout, with over 1,100 participants attending both in person and online, reflecting the high level of interest and engagement from the business community.
