Sta. Rosa to welcome new international hotel by 2029

SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC), the hospitality arm of SM Prime Holdings Inc., is expanding its portfolio with the planned opening of Park Inn by Radisson in Sta. Rosa, Laguna by the first quarter of 2029.

The %u20B11.5-billion development aims to meet rising demand in one of Calabarzon’s fastest-growing economic centers, while also supporting SM Prime’s broader strategy of building integrated estates that combine hospitality, retail, and business.

The 201-room hotel will include multiple dining outlets, a swimming pool, gym, and event facilities. It will be directly connected to a premier SM mall and the upcoming 4,000-square-meter SMX Sta. Rosa Trade Hall via bridgeway, positioning the property as a key magnet for regional and national MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) activity.

SMHCC currently operates 10 hotels with over 2,600 rooms, as well as six convention centers and two trade halls with more than 42,000 square meters of leasable space. Its existing portfolio includes Conrad Manila, Radisson Blu, Lanson Place, Taal Vista Hotel, Pico Sands Hotel, and other Park Inn by Radisson properties.

“With the City of Sta. Rosa’s growth as a business and industrial hub, demand for accommodation from business and leisure travelers continues to rise. The new hotel will meet this need, generate local jobs, and boost the city’s economic activity,” said Peggy Angeles, SMHCC executive vice president.

The project, designed by H1 Architecture, will integrate contemporary hospitality features with local character while maintaining brand standards.

Sta. Rosa has emerged as a key industrial and commercial hub in Southern Luzon, hosting manufacturing and IT-BPO firms, economic zones, and real estate developments. It ranked 11th among highly urbanized cities nationwide in the Department of Trade and Industry’s 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index, reflecting its continued ascent as one of the Philippines’ most competitive urban centers.
