InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, which closed its Makati location in 2015, is making a comeback in the Philippines with a new development in New Clark City.

On Wednesday, IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) and Hann Philippines, Inc. announced a franchise agreement to reintroduce the prestigious hotel brand to the country. The new InterContinental hotel will be situated within the Hann Reserve, a 450-hectare luxury estate in New Clark City, a major project of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

Chris Anklin, IHG's senior director for development, highlighted the Philippines' ambition to become a major tourism hub through rapid infrastructure growth and enhanced travel convenience. "Hann Reserve is at the forefront of this new development wave, and IHG is excited to support it," Anklin stated.

The InterContinental Clark will feature 250 rooms, with construction scheduled to commence in 2027 and completion anticipated by 2031.

Anklin expressed enthusiasm about the hotel's potential, noting, “InterContinental Clark will offer a compelling blend of leisure, lifestyle, and business amenities. We eagerly anticipate working with our partners to introduce our renowned brands to innovative locations throughout the country.”

Dae Sik Han, chairman and CEO of Hann Philippines, expressed pride in reinstating the InterContinental brand in the country, acknowledging its 75-year legacy. “The InterContinental brand will offer a new dimension of luxury at Hann Reserve, elevating New Clark City as a premier global leisure destination,” Han said.

Conveniently located, InterContinental Clark will be a 15-minute drive from Clark International Airport and approximately two hours from Manila.
