Philippine Consulate launches 2025 VIP tour for US-based filipinos

The Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu has officially launched the 2025 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour, an exclusive program designed for US-based Filipinos and their families who wish to explore the Philippines. The 2025 tour will take place from July 6 to 15, offering participants a unique opportunity to visit some of the country's most iconic and culturally rich destinations.

This year's VIP Tour will include visits to Manila, Laoag in Ilocos Norte, Vigan in Ilocos Sur, and Puerto Princesa in Palawan. These locations were carefully chosen to showcase the Philippines' diverse culture, heritage, and natural beauty. Manila will serve as the starting point, offering participants a mix of urban experiences, while Laoag and Vigan provide a deep dive into the history and traditions of the Ilocos region. Puerto Princesa, known for its stunning beaches and the famous Underground River, will be a highlight of the tour.

A new addition to the 2025 iteration of the tour is the "VIP Next Gen Tour," which caters to participants who lead more active lifestyles. The VIP Next Gen Tour will take travelers to Manila, Siargao, and Puerto Princesa. Siargao, known as the country’s surfing capital, offers an exciting adventure for those who enjoy water sports and outdoor activities, making it an appealing destination for younger and more active participants.

The VIP Tour, previously called the Ambassador’s Tour, is a flagship tourism initiative by the Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the US, led by the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC. The program aims to strengthen the connection between Filipinos and their roots, while providing them with an immersive cultural experience in the Philippines.

Pamela Durian-Bailon, acting Head of the Philippine Consulate General in Honolulu, emphasized that the VIP Tour is more than just a travel package. “It is a celebration of our shared heritage, a showcase of the beauty and diversity of our islands, and an opportunity to strengthen the bond between our kababayan (compatriots) and their roots,” she said.

In a special video message, Philippine Ambassador to the US, Jose Manuel Romualdez, invited Filipinos to participate in the tour, promising a “memorable adventure” that will allow participants to experience the best the Philippines has to offer. He added that the tour would provide unforgettable moments, offering an opportunity to reconnect with the homeland and create lasting memories.

The 2025 VIP Tour is open to all Filipinos and friends of the Philippines living in the United States. Interested travelers can find more information about the itinerary, pricing, and registration process by visiting the official website at www.viptourphilippines.com. The program is expected to foster closer ties with the Filipino diaspora while promoting tourism and economic growth in key regions of the Philippines.
