Bacolod City welcomed the additional P300-million investment of Phinma Corp. into the 21-hectare township project of its property arm Phinma Properties along the Bacolod-Silay Airport Access Road in Barangay Bata.
The mixed-use development called Saludad will feature key facilities such as Phinma Hospitality’s lifestyle brand TRYP by Wyndham Bacolod and Phinma Education’s Southwestern University (SWU).
Frances Mae Llamas, head of the city’s Department of Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion, said on Wednesday Bacolod City celebrates Phinma Properties’ first venture here as a significant milestone.
“The additional investment takes this bold step further by ensuring that the essentials are in place in time for the much-anticipated completion of Phase 1 in 2026,” she said in an interview.
Llamas acknowledged the strong commitment and confidence of Phinma chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) Ramon del Rosario in the Bacolod business community, adding that the major investment is expected to boost economic growth and provide new livelihood opportunities in the city.
Phinma Properties launched the Saludad branch in October last year, showcasing a PHP12-billion development with a masterplan designed by architect Royal Pineda, which will also harness the services of the Phinma Construction Materials Group.
The construction of Wyndham Bacolod, the development’s anchor tenant, is expected to start soon.
Meanwhile, the SWU at Saludad, the school’s first branch outside Cebu City, is part of the Phinma Education network in the Philippines and Indonesia.
“We’re creating a lively, sustainable community for our beloved Bacolodnons where they can easily access essentials to dignified lives,” Phinma Properties president and CEO Raphael Felix said in a statement.
“Saludad combines the best offerings of the Phinma Group with the city’s rich heritage and beautiful sceneries amidst its fast-growing economy this marriage of tradition and modernity makes it distinctly Bacolod.”
