Filipino real estate executive named Asia’s champion for smart solutions

A Filipino real estate leader has been named Asia’s Champion for Smart Solutions in Real Estate at the 2025 Asia’s Golden Icon Awards, highlighting the sector’s growing focus on sustainable and inclusive development.

John Vincent Rapiz, vice president for sales and marketing at Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation (PDO), received the award during ceremonies held at Okada Manila. The recognition underscores his role in championing innovative housing models and livable urban spaces.

“Exceptional leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and awe-inspiring talent, when combined with a genuine willingness to serve and share, make for the perfect qualities of someone worthy of being called an icon,” said Dr. Ronnel Ybañez, chairman of the award’s executive board.

Rapiz, who has held leadership posts in top property firms for more than 15 years, oversees the sales and marketing arm of PDO, a member of the ICCP Group. His academic background includes degrees in urban and regional planning, real estate development, and ongoing doctoral studies in urban planning at the University of the Philippines.

Asia’s Golden Icon Awards is a regional program that honors individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions in their fields through innovation, influence, and excellence. Its 2025 executive board included leaders from government and business such as former Senator Gringo Honasan II, OFW Partylist Representative Marissa Magsino, and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Consul Enunina Mangio.
