DPWH undertakes projects in Maripipi Island 

District Engineer (DE) Ferdinand A. Briones of the Department of Public Works and Highways - Biliran District Engineering Office (DPWH-BDEO) has been monitoring the progress of the on-going carry-over projects in Maripipi Island in Biliran Province during his recent inspection on May 22, 2021.

DE’s inspection was accompanied by project engineers, Engr. Jeorge S. Malaque and Engr. Diolito S. Aberion together with project inspectors and some technical personnel from the Construction Section.

Projects inspected are the rehabilitation of damaged paved roads along Maripipi Circumferential Road specifically at Brgy. Casibang to Brgy. Ol-og implemented under the 2020 fund amounting to P47-M, Rehabilitation at Brgy. Danao to Brgy. Bato implemented under 2019 fund amounting to P45.6-M and Rehabilitation at Proper Poblacion to Brgy. Ermita, Brgy. Bato to Brgy. Banlas and Brgy. Binalayan West under 2017 fund amounting to P118.6-M.

As per inspection, contractors are now working on the projects and committed to fast-track these projects on or before the expiry date on December 31, 2021.

“These projects are one of the major infrastructures in the island of Maripipi and its completion will have a great impact in terms of economic development of the island,” said Briones.
