The province of Nueva Ecija has launched a mobile tourism app that could help boost its local tourism industry, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

Tourism officer Jose Maria San Pedro said on Tuesday the easy-to-use app will allow users to know more about the rich cultural and tourist destinations in the province.

“This is the first and only tourism application that is available through iOS (iPhone Operating System) and Android devices. Inilunsad natin ito para magkaroon ng digital platform na kung saan ang lahat ng tourism establishments ay matatagpuan natin sa isang mobile application (We launched this to have a digital platform wherein all tourism establishments can be found in one mobile application),” San Pedro said in a news program.

The Nueva Ecija Tourism App can be downloaded via Google Playstore.

Once downloaded, the app is available even offline.

“So, even without internet connection, this can be used offline,” San Pedro said.

Aside from tourist destinations, he said users can also see places to eat and stay in the province in the app.

San Pedro encouraged tourism establishments in the province to visit municipal or city tourism offices in their localities so that they could register for the Nueva Ecija Tourism App for free.

“Para sa ating mga tourism establishment, ibig sabihin kung kayo ay isang hotel, restaurant o resort at hindi na po ninyo gustong mag-print ng brochure, meron na po tayong sariling digital brochure at ito po ay ang ating Nueva Ecija tourism app (For our tourism establishments, which mean a hotel, restaurant or resort and you no longer want to print brochures, we now have our own digital brochure and this is our Nueva Ecija tourism app),” he added.
