SM Prime Holdings, Inc., a prominent real estate development firm, has initiated a significant move toward the transformation of Bacolod City's renowned Manokan Country. The company's recent turnover of P131.89 million to Bacolod City Mayor Albee B. Benitez marks the commencement of the area's redevelopment into a cutting-edge tourist destination that pays homage to the rich Ilonggo food culture and tradition.

During the turnover ceremony, SM Supermalls President Steven Tan underscored the seven-year advance rental payment for Manokan Country, as stipulated in the 40-year lease agreement with the city. The annual rental fee of P21.26 million will see a 5% escalation rate every three years.

As part of its redevelopment plans, SM Prime is set to revamp Manokan Country into a tech-savvy, more spacious food hall. The envisioned redesign includes the establishment of a state-of-the-art kitchen, ensuring customers of hygienic food preparation and the preservation of the beloved Chicken Inasal's authentic taste. Moreover, the plan incorporates air-conditioned dining areas for a more comfortable and enjoyable gastronomic experience.

Speaking about the project, Lim, a representative of SM Prime, emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing the shopping and dining experiences of the Bacolod community. The redesigned Manokan Country, according to Lim, is a testament to the company's dedication to providing a world-class facility for both customers and Chicken Inasal entrepreneurs.

Lim also highlighted the importance of modernizing the iconic Manokan Country to meet the evolving demands and expectations of local residents and tourists. The planned infrastructure upgrades aim to elevate safety standards, improve hygiene practices, and enhance operational efficiency, catering to the discerning preferences of customers in today's dynamic dining landscape.

The ambitious modernization project, jointly undertaken by SM Prime and the city government, seeks to create an inviting and pleasant environment for visitors. The integration of upgraded facilities, advanced sanitation systems, and innovative parking solutions aims to foster a positive impression of Bacolod City and promote a thriving local economy.

Furthermore, the transformation of Manokan Country is expected to incorporate technology-driven solutions, including digital payment options and efficient waste management systems, fostering convenience, sustainability, and enhanced customer experiences. The project aligns with the broader vision of Bacolod City as a forward-thinking destination committed to providing exceptional experiences to its residents and visitors.
