PEZA chief graces launch of Victoria Industrial Park

Advancing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s mission of a self-reliant and globally competitive pharmaceutical industry, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Tereso O. Panga, along with key government officials and industry leaders, graced the official launch of Victorial Industrial Park (VIP) on April 30, 2025 at Brgy. Baculong, Victoria, Tarlac.

In his keynote speech, DG Panga lauded the development of VIP as a historic breakthrough in the country’s industrial development and a direct support to the Marcos Jr. administration’s vision of improving access to affordable medicines, empowering Filipino manufacturers, and strengthening the local pharmaceutical supply chain. “This is a bold step forward in our collective pursuit of sustainable industrial growth and nation-building. The VIP will play a critical role of establishing a green lane for pharmaceutical manufacturing. Hindi lamang po tayo pang Pilipinas, tayo po ay makikipag-compete worldwide when it comes to producing products intended not just for the domestic but as well as for the global market,” he said.

In a show of public-private sector synergy, the PEZA Chief also stood alongside FDA Director General Dr. Samuel Zacate, ARTA Secretary Ernesto Perez, Congressman Christian Yap, and VIP Developer and Greenstone Pharmaceutical CEO Melissa Yap to witness the signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) and Understanding (MOU) with 13 pioneering locators from manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, home care, food products, and design and export firms.

The MOA & MOU were signed by representatives of Lifestrong Marketing Inc., ACP Heavy Industries, Greenstone Pharmaceutical (makers of Katinko), Goodfield, Ethospheric Inc., Solstice ECOventures Inc., Triumphus Ventures Inc., Medinext Inc., Revitalix Inc., Kweens Ventures Inc., K Food, Verdant Dreams Hong Kong, and The Creative Ecobub for Philippine Artistry.

These companies are expected to bring in advanced technologies, expand local production, and generate employment opportunities for Tarlac and neighboring provinces.

“PEZA will work together closely with both the FDA and VIP to ensure the success of this first Pharma Ecozone in the country and make this pioneering effort a benchmark for future Pharma Ecozones all across the Philippines! This is our commitment and promise.” said the PEZA Director General.

The launch further included the unveiling of the Victoria Industrial Park marker and the announcement of an on-site FDA satellite laboratory, which will streamline regulatory processes and boost local healthcare manufacturing capabilities.

PEZA shall continue to provide unwavering support for this transformative initiative, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to eco-zoning the country toward inclusive, self-reliant, and sustainable economic development. #
