PEZA receives award for advancing UN SDG

Recognizing outstanding individuals and organizations that have demonstrated transformative leadership, innovation, and sustainable progress across various sectors, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Tereso O. Panga received awards for advancing the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure during the Icons of Change Awarding 2025 held on 27 April 2025 at the Southville International School and Colleges, Las Piñas City.

DG Panga was also honored for his role of fostering inclusive and sustainable economic zones that generate local employment, attract investments, and uphold environmental responsibility within ecozones.

These recognitions affirm PEZA’s years-long collective commitment and mission of eco-zoning the country towards inclusive and sustainable development.

In his remarks, DG Panga highlighted PEZA’s pivotal role of driving economic stability and championing industrial innovation. “We are proud to contribute to the ongoing transformation of the Philippines into a prime investment destination and a competitive manufacturing hub in the Asia-Pacific region. Not only that, we advance socio-economic progress, continuously transforming cities, municipalities, and provinces into highly urbanized areas and providing job opportunities for our people, all while keeping an eye on environmental stewardship” he said.

The event also featured the Metro Manila SDG Action Summit 2025: Celebrating the United Nations Year of Peace and Trust, reflecting the strengthened initiatives in championing safe and secure Philippines that support sustainable innovation and economic growth across the nation.
