Megaworld Corp., Andrew Tan’s property development arm, said it is allocating P12 billion to develop its wellness township in Lipa, Batangas in the next five to seven years, according to a report by BusinessMirror.
The company said it has partnered with the owners of the Farm at San Benito in Lipa, Batangas to transform the 25-hectare area into a township.
The company said San Benito Private Estate will become a low-density wellness community that offers residential village lots, low-rise residential condominiums, international brand hotel, sports and leisure hub, active adult center, community gardens, commercial shops inside an expansive nature park, as well as nature walk trails.
It will be Megaworld’s 33rd township development in the country.
Located just around 20 minutes from Lipa City Proper, the estate offers a view of the Malarayat mountains and is surrounded by forests and waterways.
About half of the entire wellness township will be devoted to green and open spaces, including natural parks and reserves, and terrains.
“We are happy for this opportunity to develop a game-changing community anchored on holistic wellness. This forms part of our goal at Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI) to help further boost the country’s tourism industry by partnering with The Farm, a renowned institution that plays a huge role in introducing the country to the world in terms of medical wellness tourism,” Kevin Andrew L. Tan, Megaworld’s executive vice president, said.
“This is a shared vision of connecting a very high quality, top-of-the-line real estate business to The Farm. The combination of The Farm and Megaworld can open many new opportunities,” Binod Chaudhary, chairman of the Chaudhary Group, one of the owners of the Farm, said.
The Farm is an eco-luxury, holistic medical wellness resort that offer natural and holistic, medically-supervised health programs, which have been carefully planned and conducted by internationally-trained integrative medicine doctors specializing in preventive medicine, lifestyle medicine, functional medicine, naturopathic medicine and holistic medicine.
Last month, Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI), the holding firm of Tan, is expecting its fastfood chain, malls, and hotels to post the strongest growths this year as consumer spending remains high.
“We believe that each of our segments have their own long-term growth stories. But we are most excited about the growth opportunities presented by our tourism and leisure segment,” Tan said during the company’s stockholders’ meeting.
He said these segments were represented by gaming firm Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. and property developer Megaworld Corp.
