Taiwanese firm invests PHP 15 Billion in new eco-township in Clark

Taiwanese company BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corporation (BBILRDC) has committed PHP 15 billion to develop a new eco-friendly integrated township in Clark.

On July 31, 2024, a lease agreement was signed between Agnes Devanadera, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clark Development Corporation (CDC), and Edgar Lim, Director for Corporate Flagship Projects of BBILRDC, at the Clark Visitors Center.

Devanadera expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Our lease agreement marks a significant milestone. It is a win for both parties—BBILRDC choosing Clark and us welcoming BBILRDC. Thank you for choosing Clark.”

Lim, Director for BBILRDC, expressed gratitude for CDC’s support and excitement about the project, saying, “We are thrilled about this investment opportunity in Clark and look forward to collaborating with CDC to make this eco-township vision a reality.”

Wun Xu Wu, President of BBILRDC, explained that the PHP 15 billion investment will fund the development of Midori Highlands, a 101-hectare project combining green spaces with urban living. The township will feature high-rise condominiums, a logistics center, a rainwater collection system, a solar farm, and energy-efficient transportation solutions.

Phase 1 of the development will cover 24 hectares of prime land, comprising eight blocks designed to create a green urban enclave. Phase 2 will introduce 50 luxury mountain villas with eco-friendly designs, each featuring living and dining areas and private patios.

Additionally, the Midori Highlands Resorts and Spa will include a coffee shop overlooking the Sacobia River, a spa, and 10 exclusive villas with private jacuzzis.

BBILRDC has been operating in Clark Freeport since September 29, 2006, and is known for owning and running the Midori Clark Hotel and Casino and Aqua Planet water theme park.
