Meralco to support Ayala Land developments

Power utility giant Manila Electric Company (Meralco) will cough up fresh investments for the construction of new substations that will support the real estate buildout of Ayala Land inc., according to a report by Manila Bulletin.

According to the power firm, the major projects it will be pursuing for the Ayala firm will be substations to be sited at the Circuit Makati and Parklinks Estate which straddles the cities of Quezon and Pasig.

“The power distributor has laid down plans to boost infrastructure support to Ayala Land’s upcoming developments,” Meralco stated.

In catering to the electricity needs of Ayala Land developments, Meralco Chief Operating Officer Ronnie L. Aperocho indicated that “this enables continuous improvement and innovation in empowering not only our commercial customers but also businesses that support communities and power our economy.”

Meralco Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Ferdinand O. Geluz further conveyed that their long standing tie-up with Ayala Land “resulted in many successful endeavors over the years” – as electricity service is one of the key components that will define the success of property developments.

He emphasized that “the upcoming projects involving the construction of substations, Ayala Land will enable us to fulfill our commitment in helping our communities grow by providing reliable and adequate electric service to more customers.”

At present, Meralco has six existing substation facilities that have been serving the suite of assets under Ayala Land; and these facilities ensure the seamless provision of electricity services in these estates.

In their arrangement, the power firm noted that Ayala Land typically “provides a substation lot provision for its developments, allowing Meralco to energize projects in an efficient and timely manner.”

On the part of Ayala Land, company President and CEO Anna Ma. Margarita Dy said “I cannot overemphasize the importance of Meralco to our commitments to our customers - whether these are communities that are starting or communities that are already thriving.”

She asserted that having a reliable electricity service partner in their real estate developments contributed greatly for them to fulfill their promise of top-tier services to their property occupants and customers.
