Regional leaders in Metro Manila convened for the 2nd Quarter Full Council Meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council–National Capital Region (RPOC-NCR) to discuss pressing issues related to public safety, crime prevention, and inter-agency collaboration.
The meeting brought together mayors from across the region, members of the RPOC, and officials from law enforcement and government agencies. Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla was also in attendance.
Participants shared updates on peace and order efforts in their respective cities, citing trends in crime statistics and recent anti-drug operations. The meeting emphasized the importance of community policing, faster coordination between agencies, and tailored responses to local challenges.
“We need to sustain the gains of past initiatives while continuing to adapt our strategies,” one city official remarked. Proposals included enhanced information sharing, better integration of local task forces, and streamlined emergency response coordination.
Secretary Remulla commended the council’s proactive efforts and stressed the need for consistency and accountability. The council’s chairman also praised the collaborative atmosphere, noting that a unified response remains key to securing Metro Manila’s rapidly growing urban communities.
The RPOC-NCR is expected to reconvene in the third quarter to review the implementation of its updated peace and order agenda.
