Philippines startup wins grand prize at Asia PropTech event 

In a remarkable display of innovation, and entrepreneurship, OJ Lopez, the CEO and Founder of REVAstaff, clinched the first place and grand prize at the prestigious Asia PropTech Real Estate Beyond 2023 event at New World Millennium Hong Kong Hotel last November 14, 2023. This notable event participated by stakeholders accross the region underscores the groundbreaking work being undertaken by property technology startups.

REVAstaff, known for its cutting-edge approach to real estate content creation, has been turning heads in the industry with its unique business model and technological innovations using Generative AI, CGI and AR/VR combined with a platform of talented Digital Artists that produces scroll-stopping real estate visuals. The company's recent triumph is not just a win for REVAstaff but is also a significant milestone for the Philippine startup ecosystem, showcasing the talent and potential within the region.

The Real Estate Beyond 2023 event was presented by Asia PropTech, InvestHK and Startmeup.HK, proved to be a fertile ground for forward-thinking ideas and collaborations. The event brought together a diverse group of innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors, all focused on shaping the future of real estate and propterty technology.

There are several dozen startups across Asia that were qualified to pitch in the primary round last November 6, 2023. The Top 4 PropTech startups were sponsored to join the in-person in the event in Hong Kong.

Among the Top 4 includes Ailytics AI from Singapore, ProSales from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, WhiteSpace from Shanghai, China and Revastaff from Cebu, Philippines.

Revastaff’s success is particularly inspiring, highlighting the impact that a startup founder can have in a rapidly evolving industry. Speaking on the win, Lopez said, "From a scrawny little startup in the island of Cebu, to winning the Grand Prize in Hong Kong! Being the Top 1 proptech startup in Asia is so surreal! We bootstrapped in the first few years and struggling the first months to make ends meet, our company could have died so many times, but we kept on working hard, iterating our product, looking for a market-fit, and reinvesting our scarce resources. It’s a great moment for us, but this is still the beginning of our journey. Still a long way to go but we are excited for the opportunities that this award will bring us and as well as to our local startup scene.”

The Proptech Consortium of the Philippines, a key player in nurturing and promoting property technology solutions in the country, was quick to celebrate this achievement.
