On August 5, 2024, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of the PEZA Academy at its headquarters in Pasay City. This new initiative is set to enhance the capabilities of both PEZA employees and ecozone workers, as well as registered business enterprises (RBEs), by offering advanced training and development programs.

The PEZA Academy is envisioned as a premier training center focused on providing competency-based education tailored to the needs of its participants. By aligning with the evolving demands of industries and investors, the Academy aims to reinforce PEZA’s reputation for excellence and service.

PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga emphasized the importance of the Academy in maintaining the agency's high standards of honesty and service. “Our culture of integrity and service has become a benchmark for others,” Panga stated. He highlighted that the Academy is a critical step toward empowering employees through continuous learning, thereby supporting both individual and organizational growth.

At the launch event, PEZA officials revealed the Academy’s logo on the Excellence Wall, marking the formal beginning of this new venture. This emblem represents a key moment in PEZA's ongoing commitment to employee development and organizational excellence.

Vivian C. Toledo, Manager of the Personnel Administrative and Services Group (PASG), highlighted the Academy’s role in enhancing the workforce's skills and competencies. Toledo emphasized that the Academy is poised to become a cornerstone of national economic prosperity by offering a variety of training programs, workshops, and resources aimed at unlocking the full potential of employees.

The PEZA Academy will feature four primary sections: the Ecozone Champions Section, the Digital Literacy Section, the Writers and Speakers Sections, and plans to introduce additional modules including Estate Administration and Management, Project Evaluation, Policy Analysis and Formulation, and more. The Academy will also provide external training and capacity-building seminars for RBEs to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and to immerse them in the latest innovations and best practices.

In collaboration with the PEZA Operations Group, the Academy has scheduled a series of forums, beginning with a Tax Forum for Registered Enterprises on August 13, 2024. This follows a previous forum held on June 26, 2024, with other Trade Regulatory Government Agencies.

Director General Panga concluded, “Our commitment to excellence and continuous learning is essential to maintaining our competitive edge and ensuring PEZA’s sustained success as a leading investment promotion agency.”
