Five more PH hotels join Michelin Guide, total now at 11

The Philippines now has 11 hotels recognized by the prestigious Michelin Guide, following the recent inclusion of five more luxury properties, the Department of Tourism (DOT) announced on Saturday.

The newly listed establishments include Fairmont Makati, Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts, Solaire Resort Entertainment City, Raffles Makati, and Shangri-La The Fort, Manila. These hotels join the ranks of six others previously recognized in 2024: Admiral Hotel Manila - MGallery, Amanpulo, Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, Hotel Okura Manila, Nay Palad Hideaway, and The Peninsula Manila.

In a statement, the DOT lauded the growing recognition as a testament to the exceptional quality of service and world-class hospitality that Philippine hotels continue to offer.

“The inclusion of these DOT-accredited hotels in the Michelin Guide not only strengthens the Philippines’ positioning as a destination of choice for world-class hotel and tourism experiences, but also affirms the renowned Filipino warmth and excellence in hospitality,” the department said.

Tourism officials noted that this recognition aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s vision to elevate the country’s global tourism profile through quality service and luxury experiences.

The announcement comes ahead of the anticipated launch of the Michelin Guide’s first dedicated edition for the Philippines in 2026, marking a significant milestone for the country’s hospitality sector.

The Michelin Guide is globally renowned for its selective ratings of restaurants and hotels, often influencing travel trends and boosting tourism economies in featured destinations.
