The world-renowned Michelin Guide is set to make its debut in the Philippines, with its first-ever restaurant selections in Manila and Cebu to be featured in the 2026 edition.
Michelin inspectors have begun evaluating restaurants in these key culinary hubs, while also exploring Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Cavite for potential future inclusions. The Michelin Guide, a globally respected authority on dining excellence, awards its prestigious Michelin Stars to restaurants that offer outstanding culinary experiences.
Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide, highlighted the Philippines’ vibrant and evolving food scene. He noted that Manila is home to young chefs redefining Filipino cuisine, while Cebu’s reputation as a top tourist destination is complemented by a diverse and world-class dining landscape.
Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco welcomed the Michelin Guide’s arrival, emphasizing its role in elevating the country’s gastronomic tourism. She described Filipino cuisine as a fusion of rich traditions and global influences, making the Philippines a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts.
Alongside Michelin Star ratings, the Guide will also recognize restaurants with the Bib Gourmand distinction, awarded to establishments offering high-quality food at moderate prices.
The full Michelin Guide Manila and Cebu 2026 selections will be unveiled in the last quarter of 2025 and made available on Michelin’s digital platforms.
