Angeles City, Pampanga has been ranked the third top city in the Philippines and #488 globally in the 2025 Oxford Economics Global Cities Index, a comprehensive ranking that evaluates 1,000 urban centers worldwide.
The index assesses cities across five critical dimensions: Economics, Human Capital, Quality of Life, Environment, and Governance. Angeles earned recognition for its strong economic growth and environmental performance, including nearly P3 billion in annual local revenue.
The 2025 list placed Manila and Cebu in first and second place, respectively, followed by Angeles, which surpassed several other key urban hubs. Other Philippine cities in the global index include Bacolod, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Dagupan, General Santos, and Zamboanga.
Local officials welcomed the recognition as a sign of Angeles’ growing competitiveness, noting that the city continues to attract investments while strengthening sustainability initiatives.
The inclusion of Angeles City highlights its emergence as one of the country’s most dynamic urban centers, contributing significantly to both the regional and national economy.
