PEZA promotes PH ecozones at Taiwan-ASEAN-India investment forum

Anidelle Joy Alguso, Deputy Director General for Policy and Planning at the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), represented the Philippines at the 2024 Taiwan-ASEAN-India Investment Forum held at the Taipei International Convention Center in Taiwan. The forum aimed to connect Taiwanese businesses and associations with investment opportunities across India and ASEAN countries, including the Philippines.

The event featured an extensive program of discussions and exhibitions focused on streamlining investment processes for Taiwanese businesses and sharing successful case studies of Taiwanese investments in various countries.

In her presentation, DDG Alguso emphasized the strategic advantages of investing in PEZA's ecozones. She highlighted several key areas within these zones that are particularly conducive to Taiwanese investment, including opportunities in diverse sectors such as manufacturing. Alguso also outlined recent positive developments in the Philippines that could benefit Taiwanese investors, reinforcing the country's growing appeal as a destination for foreign investment.

Taiwanese investors have been significant contributors to the Philippine economy, with investments exceeding PHP 20 billion and creating over 25,000 direct jobs for Filipinos. PEZA, as a leading agency in the ecozone program, is dedicated to driving further investments by showcasing the benefits of its ecozones to international businesses.

Supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Taipei (PTIC-Taipei), the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), PEZA continues to advance its mission of promoting eco-zoning as a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable development in the Philippines. The agency's commitment to enhancing its ecozones aims to attract more Taiwanese firms and foster long-term economic growth in the country.
