Government agencies, realty leaders set to sign agreement

In a move to bolster the nation's housing initiatives, the Department of Human Settlements (DHSUD) is set to collaborate with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National Real Estate Association (NREA) through a convergence agreement. The agreement is poised to fortify the government's commitment to achieve its one-million housing target.

The signing of this trilateral agreement will be a key highlight of the upcoming 28th NREA-DHSUD National Convention, slated for May 16 and 17, 2024, at Makati Sports Club, Salcedo Village, Makati City. The convergence aims to amplify the capacity of local government units (LGUs), who are pivotal in implementing the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) housing program.

Expected signatories include DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos, Jr., and NREA Board Chairlady Imelda C. Magtoto & National President Red J. Rosales.

Furthermore, DILG issued an advisory last April 19, 2024, urging LGU officials and pertinent personnel to participate in the convention, highlighting its importance in housing capability-building. Attendees will gain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits, essential for license renewals in the real estate and architecture sectors.

In conjunction with the convention, NREA will host its annual Chairperson’s Golf Cup on May 15, 2024, at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City. This event, chaired by Bansan Choa, serves not only as a golf tournament but also as a fundraising activity for NREA's corporate social responsibility projects.

Both the convention and golf cup are made possible through the generous support of various sponsors, including PHirst Park Homes, Inc.; Pag-IBIG Fund; Davies Paint Philippines, Inc.; and many more esteemed organizations.

This collaborative effort signifies a significant step forward in addressing the nation's housing needs and fostering partnerships within the real estate sector.
