Azela Torrefranca Esponilla Honor emerges as a beacon of excellence in Philippine real estate—...
Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) has appointed former AREIT President and CEO Jose Eduardo A. Quimpo II as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Treasurer, effective August 19, 2025.
Quimpo succeeds Augusto D. Bengzon, who has served as ALI’s CFO for 21 years. Bengzon will continue to be part of the Ayala Land Group’s leadership team as a Management Committee member and Director in various subsidiaries, including AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. (ALLHC) and Avaland Berhad in Malaysia.
ALI described the transition as part of its deliberate succession strategy aimed at strengthening financial leadership and reinforcing long-term stability.
Quimpo brings extensive experience in corporate finance, capital markets, and risk management. As AREIT’s former chief executive, he oversaw the company’s growth and diversification, and within Ayala Land, he previously held leadership positions including CFO of the Leasing & Hospitality Group, Chief Risk Officer, and Head of Corporate Finance, Strategy, and Investor Relations.
His career also spans the banking sector, where he held senior posts at BDO — including as President of BDO Securities and COO of BDO Capital — and at BPI as Director and Head of Execution at BPI Capital. He is a Management Engineering graduate of Ateneo de Manila University.
As CFO, Quimpo will lead ALI’s financial strategy, capital markets activity, risk management, and investor engagement. “He is expected to help drive the company’s disciplined financial execution and support sustainable growth across its diverse real estate portfolio,” ALI said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Bengzon leaves a strong legacy, having shaped ALI’s capital position and broadened its portfolio across multiple real estate classes. He is credited with several firsts in Philippine corporate history, including the country’s first corporate bond, first real estate investment trust, and first sustainability-linked financing.
Bengzon’s leadership also earned ALI numerous recognitions for financial excellence and corporate governance. He was awarded Asia’s Best CFO by the Corporate Treasurer Awards, ING-Finex CFO of the Year in 2019, and most recently Best CFO for Southeast Asia by FinanceAsia.
