The Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) has unveiled its new GoBayani savings account, a digital deposit service designed to provide Filipinos abroad with seamless access to the bank’s digital banking services.
Launched on Monday, the GoBayani account offers overseas Filipinos the ability to send money home via fund transfers, perform e-commerce transactions, and receive remittances through Visa Direct via international Visa partners. Additionally, users can pay bills and other dues online, with future plans to include monthly contributions to Pag-Ibig Fund, Social Security System, and PhilHealth.
"We are cheering on our kababayans abroad to save and grow their money through LandBank GoBayani. We want to support every step of their journey towards financial independence for them and their families back home," said LandBank President and CEO Lynette Ortiz in a statement on Tuesday.
Filipinos living abroad can open a GoBayani savings account without an initial deposit or maintaining balance, using their smartphones through the LandBank Mobile Banking App's new straight-through account opening feature.
"Investing in our digital infrastructure forms part of our response to the increasing demand for convenient digital solutions. We are continuously enhancing our digital offerings to deliver a seamless banking experience to our customers and expand financial access to all," Ortiz added.
To further promote GoBayani and other digital banking services, LandBank will visit overseas Filipinos in the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in June.
