BCDA positions New Clark City as leading industrial center

State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) reaffirmed its commitment to building New Clark City in Tarlac province as a leading industrial center attracting domestic and foreign investors.

BCDA president and chief executive Joshua Bingcang made the statement following the recent visit of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to the Philippines, where President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. presented New Clark City as a prime destination for Singaporean investments.

“We are thrilled to have none other than President Marcos Jr. as our ambassador for New Clark City. With his support, we can certainly attract more investors to choose this area as they pursue expansion and investment opportunities,” he said.

The President underscored the government’s vision of transforming New Clark City into an industrial hub where Singaporean businesses can contribute.

“On the BCDA’s part, we commit to develop New Clark City according to the masterplan, with the vision of creating the country’s green, resilient, inclusive, and smart metropolis. We want to position New Clark City as an investment haven and tourist destination—one that will support the Marcos administration’s socioeconomic agenda of establishing livable and sustainable communities, revitalizing industries, and generating quality jobs,” Bingcang said.

New Clark City, which spans 9,450 hectares, is a greenfield development within the Clark Special Economic Zone. It’s envisioned as an inclusive, resilient, sustainable and smart city.

The major metropolis aims to decongest Metro Manila and act as an investment hub, fostering growth in Central Luzon.

The BCDA teamed up with Surbana Jurong of Singapore in crafting New Clark City’s Comprehensive Master Development Plan, leveraging on Singapore’s expertise in smart city development.

Other collaborators on the master plan are the Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport and Urban Development, AECOM, Nippon Koei and Philkoei International.
